When (and When NOT) to Use Freebies

Most digital marketing coaches will tell you the best way to grow your email list is with a freebie (also known as a lead magnet). This is both good and bad advice, depending on this situation.

Because here’s the thing about freebies.

If your business is a picnic, then freebies attract the flies.

Except for when they don't.

Because sometimes freebies ARE a smart idea, if they're done right and for the right reasons.

Then instead of attracting flies, your freebie will draw in caterpillars... which (humor me, here) turn into beautiful buyer butterflies.

So how do you know when a freebie is a good idea or a bad one?
