DIY vs Outsourcing for Digital Products and Sales Funnel Technology: Can You Really Learn to Do It Yourself, or Should You Hire an Expert?Feb 06, 2023
Not that long ago, I was terrified of technology. I needed my husband to fix the DVD player. I didn’t know what streaming TV meant. I thought a lead magnet was something you tack to your fridge. (Okay, not really, but close.)
Then I worked with a coach who forced me to create my own opt-in page. (Which, incidentally, is also called a lead magnet. I learned fast.)
And guess what—I survived.
Not just that, but I actually enjoyed it. So I ventured into some other tech tools that I’d previously only dabbled in or else hired other people to run for me, like ConvertKit and WooCommerce and Zapier.
The day I ditched Wordpress and discovered that I could build a whole course website in Kajabi—by myself—in only two days!! (compared to the two weeks it took me to attempt the same task in WordPress)—I was officially free.
Free from the chains of technology terror.
And that’s when my business took off.
Now… does that mean I manage every tech-related task in my business? No. Because I’ve learned the secret to knowing when to DIY, and when to outsource.
And you can, too.
If you’re afraid of technology, don’t have the time or interest in learning technology, or wonder if you can afford to hire someone else to do it for you, be encouraged. You CAN make peace with the tech monster. And chances are, you’ll discover it’s not so scary after all.
In today’s episode of The Inspired Business Podcast, we’re talking about the pros and cons of learning and managing tech platforms yourself, vs. hiring an expert to do it for you. This is going to be an encouraging discussion for many of you who are unwittingly allowing technology to hold you back. It’s time to break free with me!
